  • How long does it take to install a fence?

    Most residential garden fencing projects take between 1-3 days to complete, depending on the length and complexity. A standard 20-meter fence panel replacement typically takes 1-2 days, while more extensive projects involving concrete posts, gates, or multiple fence types may take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline during your quote so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Do I need planning permission for a new fence?

    In most cases, no planning permission is needed for garden fencing. However, fences over 2 meters high (or 1 meter if adjacent to a highway) may require approval. If your property is listed or in a conservation area, additional restrictions may apply. We're happy to advise on regulations specific to your situation and can help with any necessary applications.

  • What's the best type of fencing for privacy?


    Close board fencing (concrete or timber) and larch lap panels are excellent choices for maximum privacy as they have no gaps between boards. These typically stand 6 feet (1.8m) tall and provide complete screening. For a low-maintenance option, composite fencing offers similar privacy with the added benefit of never needing treatment or painting.

  • Can you install fencing on uneven or sloped ground?

    Yes, we regularly work with sloped and uneven terrain across Hampshire. We can either step the fence panels to follow the slope or rack the panels at an angle, depending on what works best for your garden and the style of fencing chosen. During our site visit, we'll assess the ground and recommend the most suitable approach.
